The mission of Grace Church is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in relevant, constructive, and beneficial ways with others in our community, the nation, and world.
Our congregation is comprised of individuals who desire to continually examine and nurture their ongoing spiritual growth and development within a supportive, caring, and loving community.
The Vestry, together with the Rector, is the governing body of the congregation
under the Canons (church laws) of the Diocese of Eau Claire, and corporate law
in the State of Wisconsin. Under canon law, the vestry, together with the
Rector, has authority over all phases of congregational life; although, in
actuality, much of this authority is delegated to other authority.
The vestry is comprised of the Senior Warden (appointed by the Rector) and
six elected members including the Junior Warden. Each vestry member is elected for a three-year term by the members of the
congregation. Two new vestry members are elected each year at the Annual Parish
Meeting held in late January. The Junior Warden, elected by the
congregation, serves a two-year term. The Rector serves as the chairperson
of the vestry. Non-voting members include the Treasurer and the Clerk of
the vestry.

The first Episcopal services in Rice Lake were held on March 23, 1879. The Rev. P. B. Morrison, a priest from the city of Eau Claire, conducted the services. Grace Church was organized on May 24, 1881, and the first services were held in the new church building on June 3, 1884. The present church building was completed in 1952. A new addition was dedicated on October 14, 2001.
The congregation has grown and evolved through the years into the loving and caring community that it is today. Individually and collectively we are thankful for what we have accomplished with God's help in the past one hundred and twenty-three years, but know that
our work is far from complete. We are enthusiastically looking to the future and strongly believe that God will continue to make known to us His plans for our church as we move forward in the twenty-first century.
