Episcopal Church Women

Grace Church has an active group of Episcopal Church Women that gather regularly to raise money for several worthy causes. The ECW provides scholarships to defray the costs for children from the congregation who attend church camp each summer, contribute to the building fund, and offer their services by preparing luncheons for funerals and other events each year.

Altar Guild

The Grace Church Altar Guild has the responsibility for the care and maintenance of the altar, its sacred vessels and its linens.  The Guild is also responsible for the arrangement of altar flowers and also their disbursement after the services.

For those who care deeply about the beauty and cleanliness for God's House, it is a labor of love and a special privilege on behalf of the congregation.  A warm welcome is extended to all who would find meaning in sharing in this special ministry.

It is the custom of the Episcopal Church for altar flowers to be given in memory of , or in thanksgiving for, loved ones.  Those who wish to dontate flowers are invited to make their requests known to the Rector or a member fo the Altar Guild.

Ministry Teams

If you are interested in serving any one of our Ministry Teams, please let the Rector know.

Lectors are members of the congregation who publicly proclaim God's Word through the reading of scripture lessons during worship services.  The Rector appoints lectors, and training is provided from time to time as needed.

Acolytes are persons who assist the ordained ministers with the worship services by serving at the altar, carrying crosses, banners and torches in procession, and other duties as may be assigned.  While acolytes are most typically young people, this liturgical ministry is open to adults as well.  Acolytes are trained by the Rector and other designated persons.

Chalice Bearers are lay representatives at the altar.  They assist the priest as server when the altar is being set up, and distribute the chalice at communion.

The Ushers distribute bulletins and are the smiling faces seen by everyone before entering the church for worship.  They not only assist in seating, but also gather our tithes and offerings and make sure that all gifts that are to be presented at the altar are taken forward.  This ministry is open to all who wish to serve in this capacity.
